cart, the last fortress from their enemies. Tamansari is decorated by Demang Tegis. He is an
architect who has a half nation from Portugis. Those the reason why Tamansari has a
combination design in Portugis and Javanese.

imitation lake and island. It located on the west side. Next, Umbul Binangun bathing places
built on the south of imitation lake. In the south area, the pool of Garjitawati and Pasarean
Ledok Sari. There is any other imitation pool again in the east area. Now, you can see the

In the gate of Tamansari, you will find some ornaments with beautiful reliefs. You also see
the blue clear pool, but you must not bath and swim in that pool. The pools are Umbul
Pamuncar for the mistress kingdom, Umbul Kawitan for the princesses and Umbul Panguras
only for a king. That pools are decorated with beautiful ponds on dragon head shape.
 
The Gates In Tamansari
Tamansari has the artistic gates. First is the gates of Gapura Panggung.  These gates only
use for Sultan and his family. From this gate, Sultan watched the landmark of the pool and
the variety of flowers on the top. Next, the gates of Gapura Agung that has the function to
the stopped place for King and the family’s cart. It has an ornament of flowers and bird
wings.
 
You can visit more artistic places in Tamansari such as Sumur Gumuling and Underground
